Year 10 G: Is criticism necessary?

“Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfills the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.”

Winston Churchill

  1. I feel criticism is a much better way to convey the message across as compared to sarcasm. Criticism helps find the areas that need to be improved upon if taken in the right frame of mind and with a positive approach.
Sarcasm, seems a negative way and will totally demotivate the person.. the areas that need improvement get drowned in this mode of communication.

  2. criticism is an honest way to express your negative feelings, but it should portrayed in a sweet way. if not, it indirectly acts as sign of bullying. critism motivates a person at a certain level, continously critising makes a person tired, angry depressed and will later not listen to you or might take it carelessly.
sarcasm has negative and positive imacts upon different people.
actually, its about what character you have and to what character are you critising or using sarcasm at and how does the other person takes your opinion. this can be negative and positive.
